Ankara accuses Syria of harassing Turkish jets
ANKARA, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) — A Turkish military statement on Saturday accused Damascus of harassing three jets flying over Turkey’s southern border with Syria by placing them under a radar lock.

The three Turkish jets, were each put under a radar lock for 10 seconds by Syrian missile systems while flying in Turkish airspace over the southern province of Hatay near the Syrian border, said the statement released by the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces.

The relations between Turkey and Syria has been strained after Syria downed a Turkish jet flying over the Mediterranean Sea on June 22, last year.

Turkish jets then shot down a Syrian helicopter in September near Hatay as the Syrian chopper reportedly violated the Turkish airspace.
